The type of economic activity "Administrative and support service activities" includes activities to support the main activities of enterprises. This activity differs from professional, scientific and technical activities, since its main purpose does not require the availability of specialized knowledge. To this type of economic activity include: lease, hire and leasing; Employment activities; Activity of travel agencies, tourist operators, provision of other reservation services and related activities; Security services and investigations; Maintenance of houses and territories; Administrative and auxiliary office activities, other auxiliary commercial services.

In this type of economic activity 58,2 thousand active enterprises of Ukraine (9,6% of the total number of active enterprises) are employed. Three of the leaders in the number of active enterprises include the city of Kyiv - 6813 enterprises (11.7% of the number of active enterprises of this type of economic activity), Dnipropetrovsk region - 5984 enterprises (10.3%) and Donetsk region - 5357 enterprises (9.2 %)

The volume of sold products (goods, services) by enterprises of this type of economic activity is UAH 59.1 billion (1% of the total volume of sales of goods and services).

The employed population in the area of administrative and support services amounted to 304.3 thousand people (1.9% of the total employment of the country). The need for employers in employees according to the data of the state employment service at the end of 2016 amounted to 1.4 thousand people. In 2016, out of the total number of registered unemployed, 8,1 thousand people were employed in this type of economic activity. It is 0.5% lower than the previous year and is 2% of the total number of unemployed.

The average monthly wage in this type of economic activity for 2016 is UAH 3,995, which is 22.9% lower than in the economy as a whole. In the area of administrative and auxiliary services, women receive wages 3% higher than men. This is one type of economic activity in which the wages of women are higher than men.
