The type of economic activity "Transport, warehousing, postal and courier activity" includes provision of passenger and freight transportation (whether scheduled or not) by rail, pipeline, road, water or air transport, as well as ancillary activities such as the operation of terminals and parking lots , Loading and unloading works, storage, etc. Also, this kind of economic activity is to lease vehicles together with the driver or the crew and postal and courier activities.
In this type of economic activity 14.2 thousand active enterprises of Ukraine (2.3% of the total number of active enterprises) are employed. The leader in the number of active enterprises is Kyiv (22.6% of the number of active enterprises of this type of economic activity), followed by Odesa (13.5%) and Dnipropetrovsk (7.7%).
The volume of sold products (goods, services) by enterprises of this type of economic activity - 360.6 billion UAH (5.8% of the total volume of sales).
The employed population in transport, warehousing, postal and courier activities amounted to 997.2 thousand people (6.1% of the total employment of the country). The need for employers in employees according to the data of the state employment service at the end of 2016 amounted to 3.8 thousand people. In 2016, out of the total number of registered unemployed, 18 thousand people were employed in this type of economic activity. It is 9,7% lower than in the previous year and accounts for 4,4% of the total number of employed unemployed. Of the total number of vacancies, every ninth was in this type of economic activity.
The average monthly wage in this type of economic activity in 2016 is 5810 UAH, which is 12,1% higher than in the economy as a whole. At the enterprises of this type of economic activity, namely in aviation transport, the highest level of average monthly salary was recorded - UAH 24,688, which is 4.8 times that indicator in the economy of the country. Women receive wages 22.6% lower than men.
